The La Siesta Hotel is located in the resort of
Playa De Las Americas, in the South of Tenerife. It is situated next
to the sea (300m), and 15 Km away from the international airport Reina
Sofia. The La Siesta Hotel is also in close proximity of the golf
courses, Compostela Golf being the nearest, only a mere 2 km away.
There is a bus and taxi station near to the La Siesta hotel, although
the resort centre is only 100m away. The reception is open 24 hours a
day and the staff are multi lingual. The La Siesta Hotel is four
storeys high and comprises of a total of 282 rooms.
Accommodation
All the rooms are double rooms, comfortable &
spacious, complete with Bathroom -( bath with shower), Hair Dryer,
Lounge, Direct dial telephone, Background music, Satellite TV, Mini
bar (to rent), Room Safe (to rent - approx 1.2 euro per day), Air
conditioning (individually controlled), Ample sized furnished terrace,
5 rooms located on ground floor near reception for wheel chair users
(on request), Communicating rooms through the garden. free baby cots
available on request, King size beds are also available on request
subject to availability (although not guaranteed). The rooms are
cleaned daily, also towels are changed daily . Bed Linen is changed
2/3 times a week.
Restaurants & Bars
The restaurant El Drago is a modern style
restaurant with international cuisine, caters for vegetarians and diet
menus will also be catered for. Breakfast buffet is served from
07.00-10.00, Lunch buffet from 13.00-15.00 & dinner from 19.00-22.00,
drinks are not included. Half board = breakfast lunch or dinner.
Picnics are available upon request. For late arrivals a cold dish in
the room is an option by order of the tour operator & for early
departures there is a possibility of breakfast before 07.00.
Children's menus and chairs available. Once a week there is a Canarian
evening (Tuesday), Italian evening (Friday), barbecue (Thursday) -
supplement of €6.01 for drinks. The restaurant is air conditioned and
has a non smoking area. The El Bohio Bar is situated by the swimming
pool and serves snacks, drinks & ice cream between 09.30-18.00. The
Salon Bar is open from 17.30-01.30.
Sports & Entertainment
Sports that are available are volleyball, darts,
pentaque, rifle shooting, billiards and table tennis (at a charge) &
tennis (at a charge). There is a fun club with full entertainment team
which is available all year round, daily entertainment programme and
sports activities, mini club from 4 to 12 year olds (available all
year), children's playground and electronic games. In the exotic,
tropical garden there are ample terraces with solarium, 2 seawater
swimming pools (one of which is heated), sun beds and parasols are
free but towels are not available.
Conferences
All conference rooms are carpeted with air
conditioning. The 3 conference rooms (Teide, Timanafaya & Taburiente)
can be converted in 1 room with a total capacity of 650 people.
Audiovisual installations can be provided on request.
Supplementary Services

Air conditioning in all public lounges.

The Hotel is approx 15 Km from the Airport (Tfs
South). Beach - 300m Town centre - 100m Amarilla Golf - 13km Golf Del
Sur - 12km Golf Costa de Adeje - 13km Compostela Golf - 1km
Road works in vicinity of hotel
There is a project to construct a new road
crossing the city and it will go all though Playa de las Americas. At
the moment some hotels, including La Siesta, are affected by noise and
inconvenience. As far as we know the hotel La Siesta is not using the
rooms on the side of the building facing the road, and the noise is
minimal inside the hotel. (Note added 14/10/2003).
